Tower of Hera

The Moon Pearl is located in the big chest inside the Tower of Hera. However, this chest is harder to reach than most. The Tower of Hera is made up of several floors and on each one are many holes (many which disappear and reappear if you hit small star switches). If you fall in these holes, you will fall down to a lower level (sometimes you’ll fall through multiple holes and go a few floors down). You must take advantage of this to reach the Moon Pearl.

Go to the floor just under the boss (Moldorm). On the left side of the room (where you enter) there is a star switch. If you hit it, the holes in the room will rearrange. Now, find the hole in the center of the room, closest to the top wall. Fall into that hole from the top side. If you do it correctly, you will drop right in front of the chest. If you fall into the hole the wrong way, you will hit some star switches and close the path to the chest and have to try again. […]

How Do I Get There?

To reach the tower you must climb up Death Mountain. You start in a cave northeast of Kakariko Village. Once inside, you will meet an old man. Follow his instructions and when he leaves follow him into his cave to find another tunnel. Once you emerge again, head left and up a ladder.

You should now be very close to the top of the mountain. Head east until you find a small blue portal and then step into it. You will be transported to the Dark World and turned into a small pink rabbit. Walk west until you see a lighter area on the ground. While standing on it, use the Magic Mirror that the old man gave you to return to the Light World.

Now, jump off the cliff on the north side and then enter the tower.

Acquiring The Map

When you enter the tower, hit the crystal-switch to gain access to the rest of the room. Now, you must use your boomerang, or another long range attack, to continue north through the room. When you do, you will notice a chest in the center of the room near the north wall. Inside is the map.

Acquiring The Compass

The compass is located in the same room as the big chest. To reach it, simply follow the paths upstairs. The compass is in a chest in the center of one of the rooms just south of the big chest.

Acquiring The Big Key

The big key is required for access to higher levels in the tower. To obtain it, first go downstairs to quickly find a key lying on the ground. After returning to the floor where you started, hit the crystal switches as necessary to reach the north wall of the room. Use your key to open the lock and then head through the door you just opened.

You will then enter a room filled with floor tiles that will fly at you. Use your sword to destroy them as they come at you and then enter the next room. There are only a few enemies in the next room. Hit the crystal switch to gain access to one last room to the south.

The next room contains two Stalfos and four torches. Take out the Stalfos and then light all four torches to make the chest containing the big key appear.
