How To Acquire: The hookshot is located in the big chest inside of the Swamp Palace. You will need the big key to claim it.
Uses: The hookshot has several functions and many of them are similar to the boomerang. You can use it to stun enemies and to pull distant objects to you. However, the main function of the hookshot is to pull you, Link, towards distant objects.
You will use the hookshot to cross large gaps. You can latch onto trees and signs and various other objects. Link will then be pulled towards that object and avoid any traps that might have been located between where Link started and the object you attach to.
